KolorFox is the result created from personal experiences as a car painter.
This solo project was born out of a desire to tackle some of the challenges surrounding color shades that I myself have faced as a car painter.
Although today KolorFox may be more of a thought than a fully developed product, it represents a vision of a tool that promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The apps core features are designed to help both seasoned professionals and those new to the field, with a goal of being a trusted partner that can make the work process easier and more efficient.Main functionsData sheet:This function offers a collection of data sheets from well-known manufacturers such as Glasurit, Sikkens, Standox and PPG.
These data sheets are particularly useful for students on secondment, as paint products used in schools may differ from those used in professional workshops.Color card:This is a searchable register of previously painted cars across paint shops and paint manufacturers.
As a digital color card, it provides access to information about color codes and shades via registration number.
"Color Card" is available to anyone who is part of the automotive industry and you can request an access key to take advantage of this feature.
As a user with access, one can add new color cards with data of cars they have worked on by including registration number, color code and shade.
Over time, this will develop into a comprehensive register that all workshops can benefit from, especially when dealing with cars that have previously been painted by other workshops or with different paint products.Code Mocker:Wondering where the color code is located?
With Kode-spotter you can easily search for the car manufacturer (e.g.
BMW) and get a picture that clearly shows where on the car you can find the color code.
If it turns out that the car manufacturer has not placed a color code on the car, Kode-spotter will provide you with an interactive map of the nearest dealer that can help you find the correct color code.Damage workshop:An interactive map showing nearby auto body shops, designed to help students find potential placements or apprenticeships.
